Reports & analysis

Report cards you'd be proud to send home

Five formats, three layouts, your school's colours — and the analysis already done.

A ZamSkools Junior Secondary termly report card: subject marks with continuous assessment and exam columns, divisions, a performance chart, attendance, and teacher comments. Real output, not a mock-up

This is what goes home

Every card is generated from the marks your teachers already entered — no retyping, no spreadsheet, no late nights before closing day.

  • Right for the level. A Grade 9 card shows Divisions 1–4 and a best-six aggregate. A nursery card doesn't — because it shouldn't.
  • Continuous assessment and exam kept apart, totalled, and graded on your scale.
  • A performance chart drawn for every pupil, so a parent sees the shape of the term at a glance.
  • Class position, attendance, teacher and head comments, and signature lines — the whole card, ready to print.

Pick your style

The same pupil, the same marks — three layouts. Choose one as your school's default, or preview them all first.

Modern report card layout: gradient header, colour stat tiles and division pills
Modern
Classic report card layout: traditional centred header, restrained colour
Classic
Ink-saver report card layout: light, flat design that is cheap to print in bulk
Ink-saver

Every level, its own card

Early Childhood, Lower Primary, Upper Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary each get the right subjects and the right grading scale — not one template stretched to fit a nursery and a Grade 12.

Three layouts to choose from

Modern, Classic or Ink-saver. Pick the one that looks like your school and make it your default.

Your school, not ours

Your logo, your motto and your colours on every card. Parents get something that looks like it came from you — because it did.

See it before you choose

Download a sample report card while you're setting up. Know exactly what goes home before a single one is printed.

Know every child

Averages, subject-by-subject strengths and weaknesses, and how a child is trending term over term — worked out automatically from the marks your teachers already entered.

Class and grade insight

See how a class or a whole grade is performing, then export any of it to PDF, Excel or CSV for the board, the PTA or the Ministry.

Every teacher sees their class

Class average, how each subject is really doing, which pupils are struggling, and where the next intervention should go — in the teacher's own portal, not just the head's.

Coming next

Being built now. Marked clearly so you know what you get today and what you don't.

Coming soon

Pathway analysis

Which pathway a pupil's own marks point toward — Science, Arts, Commerce, Technical — with the reasoning shown, not hidden. It suggests, and a teacher decides. It will never choose a child's pathway for them.

Coming soon

Free termly pathway check

Marks show what a child is good at today. They don't show what a child is drawn to — or what they'd be good at with a teacher who had the time. A short check each term, free, on web, app or USSD, so interest counts too.

New · Growth & daily practice

Marks show where a child is. Growth shows where they're going.

Built for the 2023 competency-based curriculum: every learner's direction, term over term — and five practice questions a day to move it.

A learner's Growth Profile in ZamSkools: a plain-language summary, each subject's journey across terms with an Improving badge, and class position moving from 2nd to 1st. Real screen, not a mock-up

The Growth Profile

Every subject's journey across the terms — improving, steady or slipping — with class position movement and summaries written in plain language a parent can actually use.

  • The same numbers as the report card. Growth is computed from the marks teachers already entered, one way, everywhere — the portal, the app and the card can never disagree.
  • On every surface. Web portals for parents and pupils, the Android app, an optional trend column on the report card itself — and a one-line summary over USSD for families without internet.
  • Teaching moves, not just charts. Teachers see their class biggest-movers-first with concrete "try next" suggestions — and the most-improved learner gets named, because growth deserves the applause, not only top marks.
  • Both curricula, one line. Form classes on A–F, Grade classes on divisions and points — a continuous journey right through the transition.
Daily Practice in the ZamSkools student portal: a day streak, a progress bar, maths questions with instant feedback, and a skills ladder showing levels and accuracy. Real screen, not a mock-up

Daily Practice — five questions a day, at their level

Numeracy for Grades 4–9 that adapts to each learner: three in a row right and the questions get harder; a slip and the skill comes back tomorrow.

  • Starts from their real marks. A learner's first questions are pitched from their actual Mathematics results — early wins first, stretch soon after.
  • Works on any phone. The app, the web portal — or USSD on a basic phone, with the very same five questions. No learner is left out for lack of a smartphone.
  • Wrong answers that teach. The options come from real mistakes — forgot to carry, added the denominators — so every correct answer means something, and every miss comes with the working.
  • Streaks parents can see. A practising child's streak appears on their Growth Profile — effort made visible, on the page the whole family already reads.

Earn commission

Get 20% on a school's pay-as-you-go spend and 30% on Premium subscriptions — paid for 12 months per school you onboard.

Track every school, contact and onboarding deadline in your own CRM, with a step-by-step training manual to help you onboard and train each school.

Get paid

Watch your earnings add up in real time and withdraw straight to MTN, Airtel, Zamtel or your bank — right from your agent portal.

Mobile app

The app, in every pocket

Four portals, one app

Parent, Student, Teacher and School admin. Sign in once and land straight on the dashboard for your role — no hunting for the right page.

Pricing

What's free, and what isn't

In full, with the numbers. No school should discover a price after it has moved its records in.

Free

No card. No time limit. Not a trial.

  • The whole platform — pupils, results, attendance, fees, timetables, HR, payroll
  • Up to 600 pupils
  • All five portals — admin, teacher, parent, pupil, agent
  • Parent access by USSD on *388*11#
  • Class and pupil analysis, on screen and exportable
  • 100 SMS credits to start you off

You are never billed by surprise. There is no invoice and no card on file — you top up first, and the system simply asks you to top up when a balance runs out. If you never top up, you keep the free platform and nothing stops working except the parts above.

Frequently asked questions

What is ZamSkools?

ZamSkools is an all-in-one school management system built specifically for Zambian schools by Ontech Solutions. It runs fees, results, attendance, timetables, report cards and parent communication from one platform, accessible by web, Android app and USSD.

Is ZamSkools free?

Yes, it is free to start with no credit card and no time limit. The whole platform — pupils, results, attendance, fees, timetables, HR and payroll — plus all five portals and USSD access is free for up to 100 pupils. Only report cards, SMS to parents and pupils beyond the first 100 are charged.

How much does ZamSkools cost?

Report cards cost K1.00 (ZMW) each, so a class of 40 costs K40.00. SMS to parents cost K0.30 each, with your first 100 SMS free. Pupils beyond the free 100-pupil cap cost K2.00 per extra pupil. A Premium plan with unlimited pupils, report cards and SMS is priced per school — you ask for a quote.

How much are SMS to parents?

SMS to parents cost K0.30 (ZMW) each, and every school gets its first 100 SMS free on signup. Higher volumes may be priced in brackets shown on the pricing section.

How many free SMS do I get?

You get 100 free SMS credits when you sign up.

Can parents use ZamSkools without a smartphone?

Yes. Parents dial the USSD code *388*11# from any phone to check fees, exam results and attendance — no internet, no app and no data bundle required.

What is the ZamSkools USSD code?

The USSD code is *388*11#. It is dialled from any phone and gives parents access to fees, results and attendance.

Does ZamSkools have a mobile app?

Yes. There is a free Android app with four portals in one — Parent, Student, Teacher and School admin — with separate builds for newer and older Android phones so it stays a small download.

Can ZamSkools generate report cards automatically?

Yes. You enter exam marks once and ZamSkools computes grades and analysis and generates report cards, keeping continuous assessment and exam marks apart, drawing a performance chart for every pupil, and showing class position and attendance. There are five level-aware formats and three layout styles carrying your school's logo, motto and colours.

Which school levels does ZamSkools support?

It supports Early Childhood, Lower Primary, Upper Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary, each with the right subjects and grading scale — for example a Grade 9 card shows Divisions 1–4 and a best-six aggregate, while a nursery card does not.

Does ZamSkools help learners improve, or only record marks?

Both. Every learner gets a Growth Profile — each subject's direction term over term, in plain language — visible to parents, teachers and the pupil, with an optional trend column on the report card. Learners also get Daily Practice: five adaptive numeracy questions a day (Grades 4–9) on the app, the web or USSD, pitched from their real marks, with streaks that appear on their growth profile.

How do I register my school on ZamSkools?

Registration is free and takes three steps: pick your school from the national directory of 9,500+ Zambian schools (name, province and district auto-fill), set up classes, subjects and students with the guided setup wizard (bulk import available), then go live. Most schools are running the same day.

How do I become a ZamSkools agent and earn commission?

Teachers, ICT champions and entrepreneurs can register as an agent, onboard schools using a referral link or the national directory, and earn 20% on a school's pay-as-you-go spend and 30% on Premium subscriptions — paid for 12 months per school. Earnings can be withdrawn to MTN, Airtel, Zamtel or a bank from the agent portal.

Will I be billed by surprise?

No. There is no invoice and no card on file. You top up credits in advance and the system asks you to top up when a balance runs out. If you never top up you keep the free platform and only report cards, SMS and pupils beyond 100 stop working.
